The South Country School District is proud of the many achievements of our Fine and Performing Arts program.  We offer a comprehensive art and music program for all students beginning in kindergarten through 12th grade.   Our offerings in Visual Arts and Music provide opportunities for students to explore new modes of creative expression and increase understanding of the ways in which the arts shape and enrich cultural awareness.   Through creative expression, students are encouraged to develop a lifelong appreciation for the Arts.

Our students' artwork is continuously exhibited at a variety of showcases and our music students regularly earn top rankings at competitive festivals.  We take great pride in promoting our student achievements, providing highlights of our exhibits and performances.

Bellport Middle School and Bellport High School trombonists recently joined 50 trombonists from across Long Island for the Longwood Trombone Clinic. As part of the clinic, high school juniors Sebastian Pistorino and Zachary St. Juste, eighth grader Claudio Pineda-Segura and seventh grader Dominick Comanzo rehearsed and performed with fellow trombonists. The students were conducted by Professor Jonathan Lombardo from SUNY Fredonia. They also played alongside members of the SUNY Fredonia Trombone Choir. The event helped the musicians learn and improve their techniques and work with college students to prepare for an exciting culminating performance.
