Three South Country School District student-musicians recently earned impressive honors.

Bellport High School student Zachary St. Juste and Bellport Middle School student Nicholas Wines were both selected to perform in the New York State Band Directors Association Honor Band in Syracuse. The pair earned the honor based on their performances at the New York State School Music Association Solo Evaluation Festival last spring. St. Juste, who performs on the trumpet, plays with his school’s band, jazz band and percussion ensemble. Wines is a percussionist who performs with his school’s band and jazz ensemble.

Additionally, Bellport High School percussionist Julius Radino was recently presented with a $500 scholarship for summer private lesson study from the Suffolk County Music Educators Association. He earned the award for his performance at the NYSSMA Solo Evaluation Festival. He performs with his school’s jazz band, percussion ensemble and wind ensemble.

The South Country School District congratulates these students on their musical accomplishments.
